Reviews

“Directed by Georgette Verdin, Time Stands Still is given just the right touch of light and dark to balance the hurt, the memories, the decisions, the frustration, the joy and the confusion that confronts long-time couple Sarah (Sara Pavlak McGuire), a photojournalist, and James (Robert Tobin), a foreign correspondent, as they try to move forward together and individually.”

PerformInk

“An intimate portrait of a unique and risky profession, AstonRep’s production is heartwrenching, humorous and true: a tall order for a small play. Time Stands Still presents a complex female protagonist in a world set on killing her, with the resilience to move ahead at whatever the cost.”

Chicago Theatre Beat

“More than anything else, Time Stands Still is brought to life in this production by top-shelf acting. When Sarah and James (Sara Pavlak McGuire and Robert Tobin) fight and exchange pointed verbal volleys it flows from their beings with incredibly natural rhythms. They seem to give the lines more heft than they might have as standalones on the script page.”
